The colors in the trailer, and the poignant love story that is described by you and the trailer of Bright Star kind of remind me of "What Dreams May Come," a 1998 movie starring Robin Williams and Annabella Sciora. I don't know if you've ever seen it- it's a real tear-jerker about the afterlife, with the most amazing color schemes you have ever seen. And, as a loose literary reference, the version of Hell in this movie is partially based on Dante's Inferno.
